[Discover the Charm! Kitakyushu] Hiraodai

Hiraodai is a scenic spot located in the southeast of Kitakyushu City, stretching 6km north to south and 2km east to west at an altitude of 400 to 600m.
It is a karst plateau made of limestone and other materials. It is one of the three major karsts in Japan, along with Akiyoshidai in Yamaguchi Prefecture and Shikoku Karst.
The vast grasslands are lined with limestone like flocks of sheep, creating unique scenery and tourist resources such as a tourist spot called Yogunbaru, dolines (cone-shaped depressions), and limestone caves created by the erosion of limestone over many years.

Participants of the 100km course will challenge the hill climb to the Hiraodai aid station.
It’s a tough climb, but let’s aim for the top while enjoying the beautiful scenery created by nature!
At the aid station at the top of the climb, you’ll be treated to a luxurious meal of “Beef Tendon Stew” specially made by Toraya, a store directly managed by the champion Miyazaki beef farmer, and “Special Sweets” from Fruit Workshop E-F!
