Kitakyushu Airport is a marine airport built on an artificial island in the Suonada Sea. This place is located on the border between Kokuraminami Ward, Kitakyushu City and Kanda Town, Kyoto District.
This airport is the only facility in Kyushu that operates 24 hours a day, and is used not only for passenger flights such as LCC, but also for long-distance cargo flights to North America and Europe. Indeed, it plays an important role as a logistics base. As with past KCFs, this year too with the cooperation of Kitakyushu Airport, you can stop by as an aid station if you choose the 100km or 60km course.
The highlight is definitely the dynamic bridge that leads to the airport. You can see the mountains and cityscapes of Kitakyushu and Kanda Town beyond the scenery that makes you feel as if you are running on the sea. Also, don’t miss the life-size figure of Maetel from “Galaxy Express 999” on the second floor of the terminal building. Please look for it if you have time.
On the day of the event, we will be preparing food and drinks produced by Fukuoka Trans Co., Ltd., which has an office near the airport. We offer special hospitality that can only be experienced here.
