What is Kitakyushu Cycle Festival?

A cycling event to enjoy Kitakyushu to the fullest

At the Kitakyushu Cycle Festival, you can cycle through Kitakyushu’s famous spots and scenic views, and enjoy plenty of local gourmet food and sweets. It has been decided that the event will be held in 2024!
Don’t worry even if it’s your first cycling event! We offer ride-along support plans led by local cyclists, and plans where you can ride with athletes from Fukuoka Prefecture’s professional cycling team VC FUKUOKA.
This year as well, we are planning event content that will be enjoyed by all cyclists.

Course introduction

3 courses to choose from to suit your running style

Are you a cyclist who wants to ride hard? Are you a potarist who wants to ride slowly and enjoy delicious food? You can choose from three distances to suit your running style.
Every course has aid stations stocked with delicious local food.

Hiraodai 100km course

Passage points: Mihagino Park – Moji Port – Kitakyushu Airport – Hiraodai – Mihagino Park
A long course with plenty of challenge, including the scenic Hiraodai hill climb. This course is for advanced cycling enthusiasts.
Aid stations: 3 locations

・Hiraodai

Recommended for these cyclists

Distance: Approximately 100km / Gained altitude: 1,000m
This course is for intermediate to advanced riders who are familiar with equipment such as road bikes and binding pedals.
Perfect for cyclists who usually ride around 100km and like long rides.

[Accompanying support available] Hiraodai 100km course: Elementary school students and above

*One tournament staff member will accompany the participants for each group.
Participation fee: 8,000 yen (tax included)

[No accompanying support] Hiraodai 100km course: Elementary school students and above

Participation fee: 7,000 yen (tax included)


Kitakyushu Airport 60km course

Passage points: Mihagino Park – Moji Port – Kitakyushu Airport – Mihagino Park
A mainly flat middle course aiming for Kitakyushu Airport. This course is for intermediate cycling enthusiasts.
Aid stations: 2 locations
・Moji Port
・Kitakyushu Airport

Recommended for these cyclists

Distance: Approximately 66km / Gained elevation: 380m
This course is for intermediate riders who are used to riding distances of around 50km on road bikes, cross bikes, etc.
Recommended for cyclists who want to enjoy plenty of gourmet food and photography without any big climbs.

Participation fee: 6,000 yen (tax included)

[No accompanying support] Kitakyushu Airport 60km course: Elementary school students and above

Mojiko Retro 30km course

Passage points: Mihagino Park – Moji Port – Mihagino Park
A mainly flat short course aiming for a Mojiko retro experience. This course is for cycling beginners.
Aid station: 1 location
・Moji Port

Recommended for these cyclists

Distance: Approximately 30km / Gained altitude: 180m
This course is for beginners in cycling.
This is a course that can be enjoyed not only by road bikes, but also by cross bikes and well-maintained city bikes with variable speeds. Recommended for families traveling with children.
